Terms of Service

Effective date: October 14, 2026. Version beta-2026-10.

Draft for legal review — these terms have not been reviewed by a lawyer, are not yet in effect, and must be finalized before public launch.

1. Who we are

These terms are an agreement between you and Breakwater Ventures LLC, doing business as Aruvello (“Aruvello”, “we”, “us”). They cover the Aruvello website and app. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information.

2. The beta and who can use it

Aruvello is in beta: features may change, and things may not always work as expected. You must be 18 or older and able to enter into this agreement to create an account.

3. Your account and household

Keep your sign-in details secure and tell us at support@aruvello.io if you think someone has used your account without permission. You are responsible for activity you or people you allow carry out through your account, but not for problems caused by our failures.

Home owners can invite members, change sharing settings and hand off a home. Invite only people you trust with that home’s records.

4. Your content

You keep all rights to the records, photos and documents you add (“your content”). You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to host, store, copy, process and display your content only as needed to run, secure and support Aruvello for you; to process optional AI features you start; and to carry out sharing and handoffs you authorize. Our service providers may process your content for these purposes under confidentiality and data-protection obligations.

This permission ends when your content is deleted from the service, except for copies you shared with others, copies in backups until they are replaced, and anything we must keep by law. We don’t use your content for marketing, publish it, or use it to train AI models.

Feedback: if you send us ideas or suggestions about Aruvello, we may use them without obligation to you. Feedback doesn’t include your home records.

5. Your responsibilities for information

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter, and for having the right to upload and share it — including documents and information about other people, such as a co-owner, tenant, contractor or seller. Only hand off or share records you are entitled to share. If household members disagree about a shared home, we may preserve access as it stands while it is resolved, but we don’t decide ownership disputes. Nothing in Aruvello replaces any legal disclosure duties you have as a seller.

6. Important limits on what Aruvello provides

  • AI, scanning and decoding can be wrong. Text read from photos or documents, AI suggestions, and manufacturing dates worked out from serial numbers may be incomplete or wrong. Review them before saving. Saving an estimate doesn’t verify it.
  • Age is not condition. A manufacturing date or useful-life estimate doesn’t tell you an appliance’s condition or how long it will last. A manufacturing date is not an installation date.
  • Coverage information is not a coverage decision. Aruvello helps you store and read warranty documents. Only the manufacturer, warranty company or insurer can decide coverage, eligibility, transferability or a claim.
  • Maintenance suggestions are general guidance. Follow your manufacturer’s instructions and safety warnings, and use qualified professionals where appropriate.
  • Reminders may fail or arrive late. They are not emergency, safety or monitoring services.
  • A Home Passport is an informational record of what you provided. It is not a home inspection, appraisal, verified seller disclosure or guarantee, and it doesn’t replace legally required disclosures. Missing records don’t show whether work was or wasn’t done. A report doesn’t make a warranty transferable or bind any manufacturer, insurer, buyer or seller.

7. Acceptable use

Don’t access or try to access other people’s homes or accounts; upload malware or unlawful content, or content you have no right to share; use invitations or handoffs to harass people or obtain records you aren’t entitled to; share others’ personal information unlawfully; or interfere with, overload, reverse-engineer or get around the security of the service. Exporting, downloading and sharing your own records as the app allows is always permitted.

8. Fees

Aruvello is free during the beta. There are no subscriptions, automatic renewals or payment details collected. If we introduce paid features, we will describe the price and terms clearly beforehand, and you won’t be charged unless you separately agree.

9. Suspension, ending your account and changes to the service

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or end access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or immediately when needed to protect security, other users or to comply with the law.

The beta may change, pause or end. Where reasonably possible, we will give you notice and a chance to export your data first. Keep your own copies of important documents.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ARUVELLO IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON’T WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY RESULT IS ACCURATE. Some places don’t allow these exclusions, so they may not all apply to you.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ARUVELLO WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR LOST PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, such as for fraud or, where applicable, gross negligence or willful misconduct.

12. Responsibility for misuse

If you upload content you had no right to share or use Aruvello unlawfully, and a third party brings a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover our reasonable losses from that claim, to the extent permitted by law.

13. Other websites

Aruvello may link to manufacturer, provider or other websites. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content or practices. Aruvello doesn’t currently offer a marketplace for repair or service providers.

14. Our intellectual property

Aruvello’s software, design, name and logo belong to Breakwater Ventures LLC. You may use the service as these terms allow, but you may not copy, resell or create competing products from it.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law where you live requires otherwise.

16. Changes to these terms

We will post changes here with a new effective date. For material changes, we will give notice in the app or by email in advance and ask you to accept the new version before continuing to use Aruvello.

17. General

If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term isn’t a waiver. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Aruvello.
